My Travel Philosophy: Say Yes to New
Travel, to me, is about waking up—not just in a new place, but in your own mind. It’s about shaking off the everyday and stepping into something unfamiliar. Something that makes you feel more alive.
That’s why my travel philosophy is simple: experience everything new. New food. New wine. New art. New people. New streets, songs, scents, and ways of seeing the world.
I don’t travel to recreate home somewhere else. I travel to be changed—just a little.

Feed the Curiosity
There’s something electric about trying something for the first time. Tasting a dish you can’t pronounce. Sitting in a tiny bar with wine you’ve never heard of. Listening to a street musician in a language you don’t understand. These are the moments that light up my brain. That thrill me. That make the trip feel like mine.
Even with kids in tow, I try to say yes to those moments. Yes to the alleyway café instead of the tourist spot. Yes to the unusual flavor. Yes to the scenic detour. I want my children to grow up knowing that life is meant to be explored.
Be Adventurous (Especially on Vacation)
Vacations are not just about rest—they’re about renewal. And I believe the best way to feel renewed is to be brave in small ways. Try the local special. Wander without a map. Ask someone for a recommendation in your not-so-fluent second language.
That kind of adventure doesn’t require mountains or skydiving (though I’ll never say no to a view). It just requires an open heart—and maybe a little courage.
Why Not Go?
That’s the question I come back to, always. When I’m unsure, when I’m tired, when I hesitate—I ask, Why not go?
Why not try something new? Why not learn something different? Why not let travel change you?
This blog is a space to explore those answers—one city, one plate, one story at a time.
