Top 5 Destinations I’ve Visited

Travel leaves imprints—tiny details that linger long after you’ve unpacked. These five places aren’t just pins on a map. They’re moments, textures, and stories that shaped how I see the world—and how I live at home.

Malta – Layers of History by the Sea

Tiny in size but massive in spirit, Malta is one of the most surprising places I’ve ever explored. The sun-baked limestone cities, the clear turquoise waters, and the blend of European, Arabic, and Mediterranean influences made it feel like several countries in one. I remember wandering Valletta’s narrow streets, past door knockers shaped like dolphins and balconies painted every color under the sun. It’s a place where history isn’t something you visit—it’s something you walk through.

Paris – Always Paris

Paris isn’t just a destination. It’s a mood. A tempo. A filter through which everything becomes a little more romantic, a little more intentional. I go for the museums and cafés, yes—but also to slow down. To sit with a perfect croissant and not rush. Paris reminds me that everyday life can be artful. It also reminds me how many layers culture can hold, and how inspiring a good window display or a rainy afternoon walk can be.

Culebra – A Quiet Caribbean Escape

This tiny island off the coast of Puerto Rico feels like a secret. No resorts, no rush. Just white sand beaches like Flamenco Beach, crystal-clear water, and a sense of time dissolving. Culebra was where I remembered what it feels like to truly unwind. To snorkel for hours, to nap in the shade with no itinerary. Traveling here taught me that beauty doesn’t need to be busy.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber – A Time Capsule Town

This medieval town in Germany looks almost too perfect to be real. Cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, flower boxes in every window. Rothenburg was like stepping into a snow globe—even without the snow. I went expecting to admire the architecture; I didn’t expect to feel so peaceful, so deeply grounded in the moment. It’s a place where slow wandering feels like the whole point.

Tenerife – Earth in All Its Wild Glory

Tenerife is volcanic, moody, and breathtakingly diverse. Black sand beaches, moonlike mountain landscapes, colorful coastal towns—it’s a place where nature leads. I was struck by how alive the island felt, from the wind in the cliffs to the bustle of local markets. Tenerife taught me that beauty can be wild, and that comfort zones are meant to be stretched.

Why These Five?

They’re different in pace, in palette, in culture. But what ties them together is the feeling they gave me—of waking up. Of being fully present. That’s what travel is to me: not just escape, but deep connection.

Have you been to any of these? Or are they calling your name? I’d love to hear your favorites too.
